Taxback.com deal with North American GAA
Dublin footballer Ciaran Kilkenny, Waterford hurler Noel Connors and Wexford hurling star Lee Chin were joined by the United States of America Ambassador to Ireland, Kevin O’Malley and Ard Stiurthóir of the GAA, Páraic Duffy in Croke Park on Thursday for the announcement of an exclusive three-year agreement between the GAA Associations in America and Irish tax refund company Taxback.com.
Commenting on the sponsorship agreement, Chairman of the North American GAA Association, Gareth Fitzsimons noted: “We are delighted today to welcome Taxback.com as a partner of our organisation. The GAA has for many years been at the heart of Irish communities in the USA and is a rite of passage for thousands of young players.
"This summer we expect to welcome 400 Irish GAA players to the US and this partnership will enable us to support the growth of the GAA in this country and provide information and access to valuable services for thousands of our members both over the summer and into the future.”
Mark Graham, Global Mobility Manager of Taxback.com, commented: “We are very proud of our Irish heritage and are delighted to further cement our ties with Irish communities overseas through this partnership with both the North American and New York Associations of the GAA. The partnership makes sense because thousands of students go to the USA every year on the J1 visa programme – hundreds of whom are avid GAA fans and players.
Chairman of the New York GAA Association, Laurence McCarthy added, “It is wonderful to see a global brand such as Taxback.com seeking to collaborate with the GAA in the USA in this manner and I think it highlights the appeal and marketability of both our games and our players both nationally and overseas.
"We are looking forward to working with Taxback.com over the next number of years in growing the appeal of GAA in this vibrant city of New York.”
